Do you need a real estate attorney to buy or sell a property? Well, the answer is no, but it is highly recommended. Real estate attorneys are there to help you through the process. They're very knowledgeable on how these things work and they buy and sell properties, they do these transactions day in, day out, whereas typically in the United States when someone buys or sells a property, they only do that once every seven years on average and things can change throughout that period of time. So while you don't legally need a real estate attorney to close a property, it is highly recommended because there's all these moving parts that need to be figured out, pay off statements for lenders. You need to create the settlement statement. You need to make sure that title is pulled. You need to make sure that any pre sale requirements are fulfilled like pre sale inspections for the municipalities or, or water reading. So it's not a lot of money. We really recommend you do it. Could cost anywhere between $250 to $750. And if you're selling a property that's worth $200,000, I think it's worth it to pay the call $500 average, to have a professional look over everything and make sure that your interests are being protected.
